Education & Science

The traditionally high spending by businesses and the town council on education and science is an investment in the future of Burghausen's society and economy. Education is a key location factor for the numerous industrial and manual trade companies in Burghausen. Good education helps to ensure a flow of young talent, safeguarding the business location's long-term future.

Burghausen is one of the main educational focuses of Southeastern Bavaria

For several years now, the wide range of educational and vocational institutions has been rounded off with the offering of a scientific education at the new university of applied sciences campus in Burghausen and the Raitenhaslach academy centre of the Technical University of Munich. This is why Burghausen has been one of four German towns designated as a science town since October 2016.

Burghausen therefore has a wealth of high-calibre education opportunities, beginning as an educational location with a 350-year tradition in some cases as well as a whole host of specialist training options in fields such as chemistry, manual trades, healthcare, music and the creative arts, plus the Burghausen campus of Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences since 2016.

With the TUM academy centre in Raitenhaslach, the city of Burghausen also has an academic think tank at European level that is used as a prestigious conference location for international seminars, symposiums and congresses.
